We go again
Outside a local football ground in the West Midlands, flowers and tributes have been laid in the memory of a recently deceased footballer. When Rick finds the memorial vandalised by rival fans, he enlists his best friend and their sons to dish out retribution. As a traumatic family loss and deep-buried emotions surface, Rick must discover how to cope with his pain. A play about grief, masculinity and loyalty, We go again explores what we inherit from our fathers and whether we can escape the paths they set us upon.
With thanks to a development bursary from In Good Company and a Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England, We go again had an R&D period and scene sharing at Birmingham Hippodrome in March 2025. Please get in touch if you would like to view the recording or read the script.
